How to Remove Stains From Kitchen Towels

Every housewife needs kitchen towels. They are indispensable in kind of household chores. Despite everything we have in our kitchen, the kitchen towels are the quickest ones to get dirty. The methods that do not include commercial content but a few things we already have in our house. Before you throw away an old cloth, try a few suggestions:


You will need to use some plastic dish or a lukewarm filled with water and salt. Stir the water, put dirty kitchen towels inside. Depending on how dirty they are, they need to stay inside. Sometimes it is enough to be in it for an hour or two, and sometimes it is if its stay inside overnight. Then wash them in the usual way, and you will see the result.


If you are simply unable to remove greasy stains from kitchen towels, try something you definitely have in your kitchen. Baking soda is a great partner in removing oily stains. There are two ways to help you with the process. The first way involves boiling a towel with the addition of baking soda, in which case to boil five litres of water with five tablespoons of baking soda. Another way is to fill the bowl with hot water and add some baking soda, and insert towels to lay down for a few hours in that mixture. You can then insert them into the washing machine if you wish.


If you notice that moulds appear on your clothes, you should wash them in the usual way, but then rinse them in a mixture of water and vinegar. Do not worry about the colour, vinegar is harmless. Of course, if you do not leave the cloth for a long time with this mixture, then you might notice some colour damage.

Other combinations include bleach and a small amount of laundry powder.
Way number one

You will need a large pot filled with water, what you should next is to put two teaspoons of sunflower oil, four big spoons of the bleach, half a cup of any laundry powder and finally a dirty towel. Preheat the pot to a boiling point, remove from the stove, put in the sunflower oil, followed by bleach and laundry powder. When all ingredients are mixed, insert dirty towels and allow all water to cool down. Then place switch into clean water for several hours. With this method, you will remove the dirt without boiling your towels.

Way number two

Take some type of pot and fill it with water and some dish detergent. Next step is to let the water boil, and after that, you should place a kitchen towel in warm water and soak dirty dry fabrics in this mixture for 15-20 minutes. After that, feel free to wash them in the washing machine as usual. That effectively eliminates grease stains from kitchen towels.

Way number three

If your kitchen towels are dirty to an unrecognizable level, the most effective solution is a mixture of bleach and sodium bicarbonate in which your towels should stand overnight. The mixture has a penetrating and unpleasant odour, so it is best placed outdoors. After that, it would be good if you wash it in the machine at a high temperature.

How to prevent towels from getting dirty

1. Wash them for the first use.

2. Do not leave them damp in the washing machine because these are ideal conditions for bacteria to build.

3. Cotton white towels are the easiest to maintain.

4. Dry them after use.

5. Every day, replace the dirty towel with a clean one.

6. Wash towels in the machine only with other towels, not with a wardrobe.

7. Take attention to the labelled maintenance method.

8. Do not use laundry softeners.

9. Always dry them before washing.

10. Use pepper towels instead of regular ones after a meal.

To maintain the original condition of your kitchen towels, you need to maintain them regularly and properly. There are ways that you can use to keep your towels from getting dirty, and it is up to you to decide how much creativity, free time, will and desire to invest in the process. The first thing you need to do is try to delay the time before they are in that stage of dirtiness. And the other is to try some of the above methods.
